Associate Professor Otolaryngology Mass Eye and Ear

Dr. Mankarious is an Associate Professor in the Department of Otology and Laryngology at Harvard Medical School, and an Associate Surgeon in Otolaryngology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and a Member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology. Her clinical practice and research focus is on pediatric hearing loss and language development beyond hearing rehabilitation. Dr. Mankarious leads a team that integrates disparate source systems (clinical speech/language testing, neurodevelopmental testing, radiology, audiology, medical record, genetics, and Registry data) for the purposes of automated access to all pieces of information necessary for the analysis of patient medical history. They use artificial intelligence (in the form of machine learning) to replace the classic chart review to understand audiologic, speech, and cognitive differences in the hearing-impaired population. Dr. Mankarious is an Ad hoc reviewer for the editorial boards of Annals of Otology, Rhinology, and Laryngology as well as Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery.
