Ellen Thomas is a senior speech-language pathologist and LSLS Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist in Michigan Medicine’s Department of Otolaryngology. She specializes in working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing using the Auditory-Verbal approach. At Michigan Medicine, she is a member of the cochlear implant team and active on the program’s outreach grant, Sound Support. Ellen’s service on boards includes the AG Bell Academy Board, as the co-chair of the mentoring committee from 2016-2020, and the Michigan EHDI board from 2004-2019. After more than 20 years of auditory-verbal practice, she remains committed to this approach and the life-changing outcomes it yields.
